Augmented Identity

augemented-identity

“Augmented ID is a TAT concept that visualizes the digital identities of people you meet in real life. With a mobile device and face recognition software from Polar Rose, Augmented ID enables you to discover selected information about people around you. All users control their own augmented appearance, by selecting the content and social network links they want show to others. Modifying your augmented ID is easier than fixing your hair in real life and, of course, TAT Cascades will make sure you look great! ”

All we need now is a big brother style database of face photos… Oh wait we have Facebook already!

Army of Low Paid Workers Help You Buy Stuff You Don’t Need with Amazon iPhone App

Amazon has a new iPhone app in the wild. It’s interesting because it lets you take a photograph of something and then it tries to find a product on Amazon.com for you to buy. At first I thought it was some incredible algorithmic photo processing awesomeness like SnapTell.

Upon looking into it I discovered it’s just a front end to their Mechanical Turk system. You get results in 5 minutes to 24 hours. Of course this is not even close to fast enough.

It’s a free download in the app store.
