Army of Low Paid Workers Help You Buy Stuff You Don’t Need with Amazon iPhone App
Amazon has a new iPhone app in the wild. It’s interesting because it lets you take a photograph of something and then it tries to find a product on Amazon.com for you to buy. At first I thought it was some incredible algorithmic photo processing awesomeness like SnapTell.
Upon looking into it I discovered it’s just a front end to their Mechanical Turk system. You get results in 5 minutes to 24 hours. Of course this is not even close to fast enough.
